Housing for the Christchurch earthquake resettlement project
Tranzasia firmly believes that temporary or emergency housing should be of a similar quality to conventional housing. We do not agree that people who need to use such accommodation should be disadvantaged or given the option of basic, poor quality and unimaginative buildings. Design costs add very little to the overall cost of a building and with the expertise of our New Zealand based designer, Michael Coles, we have produced housing that will provide a warm, safe and comfortable environment that will not demean the occupants.
The designs on this page are for a typical two bedroom relocatable housing unit to be constructed for people displaced by the Christchurch earthquakes. The properties are reasonably spacious (96 sq metres), fully insulated with steel framing and quality internal and external finishes. The materials used are of robust and long-lasting nature that substantially increase survivability in up to a magnitude 9 earthquake. Properties come complete with internal appliances (stove, washing machine and heatpump) and have good quality carpets and vinyl floor coverings in wet areas. The properties are architecturally designed in New Zealand and are pre-built off shore to exacting and building code compliant specifications.

All Tranzasia properties come with a nine-year guarantee against equipment, build or other defects and have a lifespan of at least fifty years. They can be readily configured into a two, three or four bedroom houses. The houses shown here can be rapidly deconstructed, transferred to alternate sites and modified for different use (ie holiday homes, small offices, permanent housing etc)
Tranzasia properties are designed in New Zealand for business, residential or commercial use and pre-built in our ISO9001 certified mega-factory in Asia. Assembled in New Zealand by a skilled local workforce, the properties can be made to meet any design or fitout requirements at significantly less than the price of conventially constructed properties.
